Mission:

PHASE 1: Crossroads, Cape Town

4. Visits to School of Hope - A school for rehabilitated street children, orphans, and youth at risk.

PHASE 2: Village of Hope, Grabouw Apple district Note: In Grabouw, the population of the informal settlement is estimated at 50,000. 34% are HIV positive! The existing clinic services an enormous area (they treat between 6 000 and 8 000 patients a month).

1. We will be at the Village of Hope farm. The farm is home to a volunteer base and a 6-bedded AIDS orphanage

2. Our volunteer work will be designed to suit various skills. Options can include:
• Running soccer clinics for poor youths in the township nearby
• Caring for young babies alongside qualified nurses in the clinic
• Renovating houses of HIV positive patients living in the local slums
• Food parcel handouts to outpatients.

3. An early morning or late afternoon hike into the nature reserve behind Village of Hope, with a picnic lunch at the top of a viewpoint. Eagles and antelope are regularly spotted on this trail, as well as some unique rock formations and amazing views!
