Monterey

In November of 2007, Mid-Cities partnered with Pastors Julio and Sylvia Ceron to plant a brand new church in Monterey, Mexico. Julio, Sylvia and five other staff moved to Monterey and instantly began to reach out to the lost. Much of their efforts are on EL TEC University campus. Julio and Sylvia held the first official service of Todos Las Naciones (church name) on June 8, 2008 and now have many people involved in the church.

Terrazus, Baja

Over the past three years, Mid-Cities has sent teams of college students and young adults along with other young people from all over the United States to Terazzus, Mexico to spread the love and good news of Jesus Christ. The teams were able to build a cafeteria for a local school as well as several houses. They also conducted school assemblies and street evangelism where thousands of people have been touched. Here are some of the testimonies from team members:

Kayla Hahn — Today was absolutely amazing! It really changed my whole outlook about what life truly is about. God is stretching me and showing me my purpose. The children are so in need of God's amazing love, and it is such a privilege to share it with them! I feel absolutely blessed to be a part of this trip because of what God is doing!

Ben Chapman — God is amazing! It's been said so many times already, but today it's worth saying again! It's only God that can unite 48 people from all over the U.S. to do His work of spreading the Good News. And that's exactly what it was today: Good News! From house-building, to evangelism, to sports games, to fiestas, to piñatas, to just love! Love that is rarely seen back home is what was brought today to the people of Terrazas! The smiles and genuine love of Jesus Christ were shown! Please keep us in your prayers for our last day tomorrow! We're expecting great things from God! Will you expect them with us?

Crystal Terry — Today's outreach in the community was amazing. We laid hands on two girls and prayed for their salvation. My eyes were closed, but I could see a light shining down on them and I could feel the Holy Spirit moving from those of us who had hands on them to the girls. Absolutely amazing.

Brandie Chapman — Today was another amazing day! We walked the streets speaking to the people of Terrazas about Jesus, handing out Bibles and Purple Books with the help of Shelly, our translator. Our group prayed for an elderly man whose hearing and sight wasn't very good. It brought tears to his eyes and his daughter's eyes. God is so amazing. Valerie and I played soccer with some kids on the street, and it was so much fun. We also hosted a fiesta at the school for the surrounding neighborhoods. We walked through the market handing out flyers and invited everyone to come. So many people showed up. We played baseball, soccer, Frisbee and basketball with the children, just showing God's love for the children and taking time to play with them.
